Quickstart
Sign up, choose a template, edit your portfolio in the Builder, and publish your first BuildFolyo URL.
This guide covers the hosted BuildFolyo workflow: account creation, template selection, Builder editing, and live deployment.
Hosted first
Start on the hosted platform even if you plan to export later. It is the fastest way to lock content and layout.
Developer later
Upgrade to Developer only when you need downloadable source code and self-hosting.
Ship your first portfolio
Create your account
Use Sign up to create an authenticated session. BuildFolyo only exposes the Dashboard and Builder to signed-in users.
Open the template gallery
Go to Templates and filter by category or tier. Free templates are available on Community. Premium templates require an active Pro or Developer plan.
Apply a template
Use Quick Build from the gallery card, Build This Template from the modal, or Deploy this Theme from the full live preview route.
Customize in the Builder
The Builder gives you tabs for Profile, Stack, Work, Links, and More. You can add projects, reorder them with drag and drop, and edit education and experience inline with a live preview on the right.
Save and deploy
Click Save & Deploy in the Builder. This persists your portfolio data and selected theme.
Claim your public URL
Open Dashboard and set your username in Edge Routing. Community uses the standard alias. Pro and Developer can also use the BuildFolyo subdomain route.
If your portfolio is empty, the Builder auto-seeds starter data the first time it loads. That gives you a complete preview immediately, and every field stays editable.
What you edit in the Builder
Profile
Full name, job title, location, biography, and contact email.
Stack
Skills entered as tags. Press Enter to add technologies quickly.
Work
Projects with title, description, tech stack, live URL, GitHub URL, and drag-and-drop ordering.
Links and history
GitHub, LinkedIn, X, LeetCode, resume URL, education, and experience entries.
Public URL formats
Community
https://buildfolyo.com/your-username
Pro / Developer
https://your-username.buildfolyo.com
Both URL formats point at the same public portfolio route. The subdomain is an additional entry point, not a separate portfolio.
Save before leaving the Builder. Template switches are safe, but unsaved Builder edits live in browser state until you click Save & Deploy.
